To help advance our abolish mass imprisonment movement, we have built a community of advocates to form coalitions and meet with senators and legislators to discuss compassionate policy change. We advocate for the human treatment of all individuals incarcerated in jails and prisons. Additionally, we focus on advocacy for those who are innocent in prison, have been over-sentenced, or have reformed.

By working with community leaders to build coalitions, we know that we will be able to fight—and win—the uphill battle of delivering positive change to our justice system. Our organization brings together those who have been directly or indirectly impacted by the justice system to share their lived experiences to help those in power understand why changes need to happen.

Many of the issues in our jails and prisons exist simply because most people are unaware of what is going on behind bars. It is the mission of our organization to educate and raise awareness among leaders and the general public about the treatment prisoners face, racial disparities in sentencing, and how to combat these issues.

Through our education and training, we teach individuals why humane prison reform is not a political left or right issue but a human issue that affects us all. By training leaders throughout our communities, we can bring change within the criminal justice reform movement and show how to build a coalition dedicated to justice system equality.
